Launch of the Bioenergy Horizons Documentary Series

World Bioenergy Association – in partnership with Blackrook Media – is pleased to launch the Bioenergy Horizons Documentary Series. The series explores sustainable bioenergy development on a global scale. With bioenergy expected to become the world’s second-largest energy source by 2050, the series highlights pioneering companies shaping a sustainable energy future across the bioenergy value chain.

The series shares a human-centred approach: emotionally engaging documentaries that reveal the dedication of individuals – from farmers and chemists to forestry workers and engineers – whose work underpins global progress toward a cleaner, safer planet.

Christian Rakos, President of the WBA: “Few people realise the remarkable advances bioenergy has made in the past two decades or the crucial role it will play in our future. We’re proud to work with BlackRook, whose beautifully crafted films bring sustainability stories to life. Together we aim to highlight the achievements and heart of the people behind bioenergy. For bioenergy to fulfil its mission, it must be in the hearts and minds of society – and these films will help achieve that.”

Launch and Distribution: The Bioenergy Horizons Series will launch at the UNFCCC COP30 Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025.
