We are pleased to welcome 3 new board members:

The GA was held in Beijing as part of a study tour to Beijing. Apart from the hybrid GA, the WBA participated in the ‘International Conference on Biomass Heating and Cooking on 20th October, held in the campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The event convened close to 100 participants from around China who included leaders from biomass energy associations, researchers, producers of biomass cookstoves and fuels such as briquettes and pellets.

Moreover, on 21st October, the participants had the opportunity to participate in a site visit to Yangxin city in Shandong province of China. The visits included a presentation at the New Energy Group that produces pellets and briquettes of various qualities, a KWB boiler installation at a nearby school, households utilizing improved biomass cookstoves, biomass heating for a chemical industry and a biogas facility that injects biomethane to the natural gas grid.

A report on the China mission trip will be made available soon to WBA members.

We express our sincere gratitude to our board member Prof. Guangqing Liu and his team at BUCT for the excellent organization and the invitation for WBA to be part of the program.
