The National Bioenergy Associations Roundtable is a WBA initiative to support dialogue and collaboration among associations working across all bioenergy sectors. In this fourth session, we will focus on a key challenge shared by many: how to communicate bioenergy more effectively.
As technologies evolve and sustainability debates become more complex, it has never been more important to explain clearly what bioenergy is, why it matters, and how it contributes to climate and energy goals. Whether you are speaking to journalists, the public, or policymakers, getting the message right is essential. Yet it’s not always easy.
This session invites associations to reflect on how bioenergy is perceived in their countries or regions, how they respond to common concerns, and what strategies have helped improve public understanding. Associations with active engagement in media, public outreach, or storytelling are especially encouraged to share their experiences.
Agenda*:
Short presentation by associations actively working with communications and messaging
What stories are you telling about bioenergy in your country? What resonates with the public or policymakers, and what doesn’t? How are you addressing misinformation or criticism?
What communication tools have helped you make bioenergy more visible and relatable?
Ideas for potential collaboration on communications in 2026
