Welcome to Pellets.Africa

Visit Website: Pellets.Africa

We believe Africa is going to be the next very large market for pellet production and use and we can see rapidly growing numbers of inquiries and projects emerging.

The background of this development is the fact, that pellets from all kinds of raw materials including agricultural residues are increasingly used in gasification cookstoves as replacement for charcoal. These stoves offer low emissions, more than twice the efficiency, faster cooking and cheaper cooking than charcoal stoves. At the same time charcoal prices are rising as sourcing of wood for charcoal production is often unsustainable and according to FAO deforestation levels have been at 4 million hectares per year during the last decade in Africa.

By the year 2050 about 2 billion people will live in Africa. Assuming 200 million households will be cooking with pellets by then and using 2kg of pellets per day this will result in a market of more than 140 Million tons of pellets per year. Three times the current global pellet market size.

Because of this enormous potential and the relevance of pellet cooking for sustainable development and climate protection the World Bioenergy Association has set up the website www.pellets.africa to support African developers of pellet plants. This website includes a section that lists all relevant suppliers.

I would like to invite you to present your company in this suppliers list. Please find details and prices for advertisements below. We are offering very attractive prices and rebates for early subscribers and members of World Bioenergy Association.

Our Association offers to its members up to date information on bioenergy developments around the globe. We also represent the interests of the bioenergy sector in multilateral organizations and events, we publish factsheets, global bioenergy statistics and organize webinars and events. We have a specific working group on advanced biomass cooking that open for all members interested in the subject.

We will organize a public webinar on advanced biomass cooking on February 10th – you are welcome to join: Link
