BIOENERGY Magazine Issue 8 published

World Bioenergy Association is pleased to announce the publication of our latest BIOENERGY magazine Issue nr. 8 – 2019. The magazine with the theme ‘Bioenergy sector at the leading edge of the transformation and innovation’ has exciting new feature articles on bioenergy technology and developments from around the world.

The closer look article features an update from the World Circular Economy Forum 2019 held during June 3 – 5, 2019 along with the role of bioeconomy in the circular economy. The feature articles include a critical review of the palm oil industry in SE Asia, role of batteries vs. biofuels in the outlook for transport sector towards 2050, an update on myths and misconceptions about bioenergy, global status of household biogas digesters followed by a technology update on gasification of olive pomace.

The magazine also features an update from the WBA US BIOENERGY mission trip during April – May 2019 detailing the forest management practices of US South East and the impact of pellets production and trade in the region.

The interview section features excellent insights into the EU biofuels sector from the viewpoint of Mark Turley, Founder of Pannonia Bio – the largest bioethanol plant in Europe. We discuss EU RED II, Paris agreement, role of e-mobility, jobs, rural development etc.

Finally, Spain is the featured country in this magazine (previously Sweden and Austria) with latest developments in the thermal energy sector, pellet stoves and boilers in the region.
