About the Initiative

The National Bioenergy Associations Roundtable is an initiative by the World Bioenergy Association to provide a dedicated space for bioenergy member-based associations to exchange knowledge on the latest bioenergy policy, technology, and market developments, share national and regional perspectives, and identify concrete areas for cooperation that strengthen the global bioenergy outlook.  


About this session

The first session of 2026 will focus on how EU regulations (e.g., REDIII, EUDR, etc.) are shaping global bioenergy trade, investment, and market flows. As the EU's regulatory framework becomes an international benchmark, associations worldwide are navigating its implications for feedstocks, supply chains, and market access.

  • Short Q&A session 

13:20 – 13:45 

  • National Associations updates (3 minutes) on new policies and regulations, and their potential impact on bioenergy in their countries/regions 

13:45 – 13:55 

  • Member presentation  

13:55 – 14:20 

  • Moderated discussion on potential collaboration, joint advocacy efforts, etc. 

14:20 – 14:30 

  • Discussion on upcoming roundtables – topics, date/time 
  • Conclusion
