International Advocacy

  • UN ESCAP-ASEAN Biofuels Workshop: WBA participated in the initial discussions by the UN ESCAP-ASEAN to help drive investments in the ASEAN region in topics such as biofuels and carbon capture and storage.
  • Oleofuels Conference (Barcelona): Shared a keynote presentation on the role of Oleofuels in the global energy transition.
  • IRENA Innovation Week (Bonn):  Shared insights on bioenergy's development in the Global South.
  • Climate Bonds Initiative: As part of the Technology Working Group (TWG), the WBA supports the organization in shaping robust and science-based criteria for sustainable bioenergy investments.
  • GBEP Bioenergy Week (Kampala): As a GBEP Observer, WBA participated in panels, demonstrations, and presentations during the 4-day event.
  • COP30 (Belem):  Co-hosted a side event with WWEA, RCREEE, and IBA, hosted a press conference and a side event at the WGEO Pavilion, and launched the trailer of the Bioenergy Horizons Documentary Series.
  • IRENA Coalition for Action: As part of the coalition, WBA participates in Working Groups on 100% RE and community energy.
  • REN21 Steering CommitteeThe WBA is part of the Steering Committee (SC) of the largest multistakeholder network in renewables, REN21.
