The World Bioenergy Association (WBA), the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), and the Indian Biogas Association (IBA) are co-hosting an official side event at COP30.
The session will explore how renewable energy projects driven by local initiatives can accelerate progress toward climate targets, improve energy access, and deliver tangible social and economic benefits. Additionally, the event will highlight the importance of bottom-up approaches, innovative financing, and the integration of technology across renewable energy sources like bioenergy, wind, and others.
Global and regional actors will discuss key actions needed to scale up renewable deployment, including mobilizing investment, improving policy frameworks, streamlining permitting processes, and strengthening public-private collaboration.
The event is a call for action for cooperation among governments, the private sector, and civil society to remove barriers and promote an inclusive and just renewable energy transition.
