Its flagship products are 2 pellet-fueled biomass cookstoves, unique in being the only cookstoves certified as clean by the World Health Organization. The stoves run on locally produced pellets made from biomass waste but also other granular waste streams like macadamia nut shells or palm kernel shells, creating a local economy. Mimi Moto’s approach goes beyond selling stoves: it uses a “Tool & Fuel” model, where success depends on pairing the appliance (Tool) with a reliable, affordable supply chain of locally produced pellets (Fuel).
