Launched by União da Indústria de Cana-de-Açúcar (UNICA) [Union of the Sugarcane Industry] in 2007 and held every two years, the Ethanol Summit is one of the world’s main events for renewable energy, particularly ethanol and products derived from sugar cane.
The meeting brings together entrepreneurs, authorities from various governmental levels, researchers, investors, suppliers and academics from Brazil and abroad. Participants attend almost a hundred lectures, presentations, discussions and debates, which take place in large plenary sessions, thematic panels and opening and closing ceremonies, as well as parallel events.
