World Bioenergy Association (WBA) undertook three study tours in Lithuania during the year 2016. The results of these missions are highlighted in the WBA Mission Report Lithuania.

The main purpose of this mission report is to tell the story about the successful bioenergy development in Lithuania. The report covers the recent developments through the study visits focusing on policy, socio economic development and technology. The aim of the study visits was to establish future connections between World Bioenergy Association (WBA) and the Lithuanian Bioenergy community.

Lithuania has a great success story on transforming from fossil fuels to bioenergy. This success story should inspire others to make the energy shift from fossil fuels to renewables. One of the first lessons from such a success story should be the setting up of a national bioenergy association. The Lithuanian Biomass Energy Association (LITBIOMA), set up in 2004, assisted in the transition for the country and is now informing the story worldwide. Read about LITBIOMA here

WBA would like to thank LITBIOMA and the President of WBA, Remigijus Lapinskas for organizing these excellent study tours.

The report is member exclusive. Members can access it through the member page here
