New report focuses on clean-tech job trends

A leading clean energy research and information service has launched an annual report on employment opportunities in the clean-tech sector.

Clean Edge, which has long published annual reports on a variety of clean energy trends, had elected to add a report focusing on employment in the clean-tech industry.

According to Clean Edge, several countries are “aggressively pursuing clean-tech job creation – investing dollars and human capital and implementing supportive policies”, adding that the sector is one of the largest recipients of venture capital funding.

The research firm’s report highlights five major trends at work in shaping employment prospects in the clean-tech sector.

The trends include the conservation and efficiency movements, the role of education in opening up clean-tech career paths, as well as new public financing models.

The report also includes an online resource guide for clean-tech job seekers and employers.
