France’s AREVA signs India biomass power deal
French energy firm AREVA has announced plans to team up with Astonfield Renewable Resources Limited to develop biomass power plants across India.
The strategic partnership includes an estimated investment of around €100 million and aims to achieve a total output of 100 megawatts.
"AREVA currently has 100 bioenergy plants in operation or under construction worldwide, and will be putting all of its expertise behind a project of this magnitude,” said AREVA Renewables CEO Anil Srivastava in a statement.
The agreement is part of the French company’s effort to strengthen its renewable energy offerings, particularly in India and South-East Asia.
